Light within the Darkness

There are many things in this life that human beings should never have to see, hear or experience. I myself have experienced things that I shouldn't have.

I should not have to experience the death of a young friend.

I should not have to watch as the foundation of a family crumbles.

I should not have to hear my best friend cry so hard that she can barely breathe.

I should not see grown men fall into a puddle of tears.

I should not have to watch a loving Momma grasp on to their son's "last outfit" in a funeral home.

I should not have to hear a Momma explain to her kids why their Daddy is never coming back.

I should not have to sit back and feel completely helpless as a friend wants the world to stop and I can't stop it for her.

I should not have to read post after post, blog after blog of a friend's nightmare that is her new reality unfold.

But mostly...I shouldn't have to feel nervous and scared about a new baby entering the world.

It is ironic because even after all of these horrible images and experiences, I can not deny that God has been there for all of us during this time.

He was there when we lost a friend.
He was there when everyone's life was flipped upside down.
He was there when she had to tell the kids that their Daddy was not going to come back.
He was there when I was laying in my bed sobbing and praying that when I woke up that this would be a dream.

He is here. Tonight. Tomorrow. Always. Amongst the tears, questions, rage, nervousness and excitement. I have to believe that this too shall pass and a new baby will bring warmth, laughter and love back into a dark place.
Because in the end, His light always beats the darkness.

Should boys wear dresses?

This is a valid question, but the answer should always be a strong spoken, NO! But what happens when your 4 year old asks your 3 year old to play dress up? The answer should always be a strong spoken, YES! Last night Veronica and I were sitting at the dining room table and the kids were getting restless. Caleb wanted to watch his Cars Toons and Faith wanted to watch Strawberry shortcake. This was causing some tension so Veronica suggested that they play dress up. Vee asked Caleb if he wanted to put on a dress and play with Faith. Caleb looked really puzzled but said, "uhhh....Nuhhh...Sure!" So off Faith went to put him in a dress and the rest is pee your pants hilarious.

He first came out with jewelry

Then Faith put lip gloss on him

Then he put on a veil!

After a while I could see that he was starting to question his decision

They finished their dress up time with a Strawberry Shortcake movie
Caleb had his first experience being dressed up as a princess. And yes I know what you are thinking, these pictures are too cute but he is going to hate you one day for this! Well it's not like I am going to hang on to these and use them for blackmail one day... ;)

Snow Day Fun :)

I recently purchased myself a Cannon Rebel Xs. And honestly it has been the best purchase I have ever committed to besides my Macbook. Now that my birthday is coming up I have noticed that my last twenty years have gone by so fast. I have little to show for all of my memories besides tiny snippets of mental images I have collected along the way. This first memory is my most recent one with Veronica King and her kids Faith and Caleb. We all had a snow day and decided to go out and take advantage of the 8 inches of snow we got the night before.

This is Faith King. Isn't she Gorgeous??!

 Look at those eyes! :)

This is Caleb King. He is adorable!

This is a moment I captured of the kids lovin on their Momma :)

I love this girl...

After we played in the snow we went in and had snow ice cream and slurpees!
It was  A.MAZ.ING.

The Start of Something New

I have never really been interested in blogs before. I started reading them because of my friend Vee. I have decided to keep a blog of my life through my photography. I am excited to have a record of my memories, good and bad. And with a new baby coming soon (not mine but my friend's) I will have plenty of pictures to post. My life has gone through many changes over the past 3 months and as a result I have new surroundings and new outlook on life. The pictures you will see are likely going to be pictures of my family, friends and some nature shots. I am pumped to get started!
